JCB to show numerous telehandlers at ConExpo

JCB will showcase various Loadall telescopic handlers from its broad lineup at ConExpo, March 7-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Among those on display will be the 512-56, 514-56 and 508-66 models. The company will also have new units, but kept details at bay.

The new 508-66 lift-and-place telehandler can reach up 66 feet with a 3,000-pound load when its two front stabilizers are deployed. That’s enough reach to set a load of material or piece of equipment atop a six-story building. With the stabilizers set, the 508-66 can also raise its 8,500-pound maximum load to a height of 33 feet, or reach forward 52-feet, 6-inches with a 400-pound load.

The machine can also handle loads with its stabilizers raised. Lifting just off the tires, it can raise 1,000 pounds to a height of 32-feet, 8-inches; lift 8,500 pounds up to 18 feet; or place 400 pounds at 31-feet, 8-inches of forward reach. It can also travel while carrying up to 8,500 pounds.

The unit has a turning radius of 13 feet, 6 inches; weighs 28,627 pounds; and stands 7-feet-10.5-inches-wide, 22-feet-5-inches-long and 8-feet-10.5-inches-high.

JCB’s 512-56 telescopic handler is one of the largest in the company’s telescopic handler arsenal. It can elevate a maximum load of 12,000 pounds up to a height of 56 feet. Standard axle-mounted stabilizers level the chassis, enabling the 512-56 to lift massive loads without sacrificing safety, JCB says. It’s ideal for lifting and placing heavy items at construction and industrial sites.

The 512-56’s boom is positioned high for optimum operator visibility. The boom’s quick-hitch enables operators to use a wide variety of attachments, further enhancing its versatility and productivity.

Operators can enter and exit the 512-56’s lower-mounted, ergonomically designed cab. A large right-hand cluster provides at-a-glance reading of the machine’s instrument display. The cab’s plus-pattern servo hydraulic control lever features proportional and flow-share capability for precise control with fast cycle times.

Lastly, the company will also highlight its 514-56, one of its largest telehandlers. Able to elevate 14,000 pounds up to a height of 56 feet, the 514-56 is easy to operate, JCB says, with low-effort servo controls arranged in a pattern style familiar to most operators.

The 514-56 telehandler’s 109-hp, Tier-4-Final EcoMAX engine can provide “great responsiveness and fuel-efficient matching of transmission and hydraulics,” the company continues. “A precise, high-speed, double-boom chain extension system maximizes jobsite efficiency. The low-mounted boom provides a rigid structure and maximum over-the-shoulder visibility. Hoses are routed through the boom for maximum protection, while boom overlaps of up to 3.2ft ensure ultimate strength and durability.”
