JLG has launched two versions of its RS scissor range specifically for the Asian market and introduced its 185 ft 1850SJ boom in the continent for the first time.

The manufacturer also introduced the 4017 and 3614 RS telehandlers to Asia at Bauma China, taking place in Shanghai this week.

The R6 and R10 RS scissors have working heights of 19 ft and 32 ft, respectively, and have the addition of active pothole protection. In the past RS scissors have only offered passive pothole protection.

Alan Loux, JLG vice president marketing, said this was an example of how JLG planned to introduce features and products specifically for a region. In this case the active pothole protection would allow the scissors to be operated easily on worksites with uneven surfaces.

He added, "It's an exciitng time. We have solid double digit growth each year and we should see strong growth over the next decade."

He added that established access markets in the world had developed when there had been the right combination of safety standards and productivity, and explained that China was at that stage now.
