JMG on international stage for first time

Three-year-old pick and carry crane manufacturer JMG was showing its new range for the first time at an international show during Italy's SAIE exhibition in October. IC reports.

The Italy-based manufacturer started in 2007 but spent a year in the design process before producing its first model in 2008. The first two models were the 2.5 tonne remote-controled MC25 and the 4.5 tonne capacity cab-operated MC45.

Now, the company offers eight electric-powered cranes from two to 60 tonnes capacity, with a further two remote-controlled models.

The range includes the 7.5 tonne capacity MC75SB, an alternative to its sister model the MC75 with a short boom. This is a special development to allow fork attachments to remain close to the machine.

A significant feature of the range is the front wheel drive. Additional features include 180 degree rear steering, a proportional boom and flexible handling, says the company.

The large rubber wheels of the newest model the MC25, for example, provides low ground pressure for off road capabilities, adds the company.

Two to three models will be added within the range in the near future. Antonio Silvestri, technical director, said there was a specific interest in adding more remote controlled units.

Once this range is completed, he said, diesel version of the existing models may follow.

The company now plans to increase its exports and will attenf future international shows.
