07 August 2009

John Holland has won an AU$ 270 million (US$ 226 million) contract for the redevelopment of the Joondalup Health Campus in Perth, Australia.

The redevelopment, which will start in August, is jointly funded by the West Australian Government and private hospital operator Ramsay Health Care.

The new contract will be divided into seven "key phases", beginning with an upgrade to access roads and car parking facilities. The redevelopment will also include construction of a new central plant building, three-level public ward block, emergency department, private ward block and St John Ambulance centre.

The total value of the project is AU$ 332 million (US$ 278 million) with the value of works under John Holland management estimated at AU$ 270 million (US$ 226 million).

The appointment follows the completion of an earlier expansion to the Joondalup Health Campus by John Holland in 1998. John Holland has partnered with Ramsay Health on a number of key health projects, including several upgrades to the Hollywood Private Hospital, with the most recent due for completion in September 2009.

The Joondalup Health Campus redevelopment is expected to be completed in 2013.
