Jumbo delivers a 1,200 tonne shiploader to Tubarão, Brazil

Netherlands-based heavy lift shipping and offshore installation company Jumbo has appointed an agent in Brazil and set up an office in Germany.

Tecnoil Comercio e Representacoes Ltda is the new agent in Brazil.Tecnoil has been active in the energy market since 1973. Together with Tecnoil, Jumbo aims to strengthen its position in the Brazilian oil and gas market.

"Jumbo considers Brazil to be a growth market in heavy lift and offshore installation. Therefore it is important for Jumbo to work together with a local agency which understands and knows the Brazilian market. Tecnoil is such an agent," said Erik Kleijn, proposals and contracts manager.

Jumbo has also opened an office in Bremen, Germany in cooperation with German independent breakbulk and heavy lift shipbroker Coli Schiffahrt & Transport KG.

The new office, Jumbo Agency Germany GmbH, aims to strengthen Jumbo's position in the German project cargo and heavy lift market. Felix Peinemann, who has many years experience in project shipping, has been appointed general manager.

Peter Bloch, Jumbo Shipping's commercial director, spoke about the venture, "We've been doing business with the German industry for over 40 years. The new office enables us to strengthen our relationships with our clients and respond quickly to their needs. In addition, we're looking forward to build long-term relationships with new clients."
