With the World Demolition Summit 2017 still more than seven months away, organiser Demolition & Recycling International is close to being able to announce a full programme of speakers.

Eight of the 10 presentation slots are now confirmed with a high quality line up set to grace London’s Millennium Gloucester Hotel when the event takes place on November 2.

The list includes the current president of the US National Demolition Association, Scott Knightly – who will describe a project undertaken by his company Envirovantage – while Institute of Demolition Engineers past president Duncan Rudall will speak for Rye Demolition on the safety issues surrounding the demolition of an iconic structure.

The 2016 overall World Demolition Award winner, Priestly Demolition, will be represented by its president Ryan Priestly’s paper on the demolition of Canada’s Nipigon Bridge. And there will be further international interest generated by the appearance of Eirik Wraal, executive vice president of Norway’s AF Decom while Martin Bjerregaard (Disaster Waste Recovery) will talk about the clean up operation and debris management in Syria.

Other confirmed speakers are James Howard (Coleman & Co) and Jacqueline O’Donovan (O’Donovan Waste Disposal). International auction specialist Ritchie Bros will give a presentation on trends in the global demolition equipment market, with its speaker to be named soon.

There will also be two famous industry names chairing the conference, with UK National Federation of Demolition Contractors CEO Howard Button and C&D Consultancy chief consultant John Woodward in charge of the morning and afternoon seesions respectively.

The World Demolition Summit is organised in co-operation with the European Demolition Association, and the headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment.
