Kaeser's new Mobilair 135 portable compressor.

Kaeser Kompressoren has added the 13 m³/min capacity Mobilair 135 mobile compressor to its range, helping to close the gap between the 11.4 m³/min M 123 and 27 m³/min M 270 models.

The new model, using a 122 kW four-cylinder Deutz engine, includes Kaeser's Sigma Control mobile (SCm) compressor and engine control system, which the company said precisely matches motor power to actual compressed air demand, thereby improving air availability and fuel efficiency.

The compressor, which is available as standard on a trailer chassis or optionally skid-mounted, also comes as a generator version with a 15 kVA output. With this genset model, the SCm system receives information from the generator regarding voltage and frequency, electronically adjusting air delivery depending on generator power consumption. Kaeser said this "therefore enables co-ordinated compressed air and power generation without the risk of overloading the unit's engine".

Kaeser said electronic control of the air intake valve "allows system pressure to be precisely controlled to within 0.1 bar directly from the SCm's display. This not only makes operation simple, but also significantly enhances fuel efficiency even when operating at partial load."

The Mobilair 135 provides a free air delivery of 13 m³/min at 10 bar, and 12 and 14 bar versions are available delivering 12 and 10.6 m³/min, respectively. The compressor sits on an AlKo chassis with a load capacity of 2700 kg.
