KBR lands Victoria transport project

US-based engineering firm KBR has been selected by VicRoads, in an alliance agreement with John Holland, Metro Trains Melbourne and Public Transport Victoria, to provide engineering design services for the US$145 million Mitcham Road and Rooks Road Rail Separation Project located in Victoria, Australia.

The firm will work on preliminary design, detailed engineering design and technical advice during construction.

The project aims to improve public transport and road network efficiencies at two of Victoria’s busiest rail crossings. Proposed work involves grade separation of Rooks and Mitcham roads from the railway, replacement of 1.8 km rail track, and construction of a new station. KBR’s alliance partner, John Holland, will be responsible for construction.
