Kennards Hire in Australia has established a new specialist rental business for measuring, testing, and inspecting equipment.

The Test & Measure division – which started trading in December – will rent equipment such as hydrostatic test pumps, anchor testers and non-invasive smoke machines as well as a wide range of hand-held devices.

The new division is the latest specialist division to be established by Kennards. Others include Traffic, Concrete Care, Lift & Shift and Pump & Power.

Kennards said testing equipment is used extensively throughout industries including mining, electrical, oil, gas and civil construction.

One of the first projects to utilise the new equipment was a gold mine in Dubbo, NSW, where Kennards supplied a hydrostatic test pump and kit. The pump was connected to a pipeline and used to confirm that the specified pressure was achieved.

Kennards said the fleet of instruments and devices will be calibrated in compliance with National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) standards.
