Kennards Hire New Zealand has been awarded tertiary accreditation with Workplace Safety Management Practices (WSMP) in the country – an accreditation that recognises medium to large businesses that have implemented effective health and safety systems and practices in their workplaces.

The Australian company moved into New Zealand two years ago – its first step into the international market – and said the WSMP award was a source of pride for the business.

It said there were three levels of accreditation; secondary, primary and tertiary. Tom Kinross, general manager of Kennards Hire New Zealand, said, “WSMP accreditation is satisfying for Kennards Hire on a number of levels.

“It is an affirmation from a highly respected industry body that we are doing the right things in terms of looking after our employees and customers. It places us in the upper echelon of companies in terms of safety, which in turn makes us a top contender for those considering hire companies for large scale jobs.

“That’s the space we occupy in Australia, and now that is the space we will occupy on both North and South islands of New Zealand.”

Kennards Hire has New Zealand branches in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington, catering to a wide range of industries and trades, from single person operations right up to large construction companies.
