Kiloutou acquires Alain Location

French rental company Kiloutou has acquired Alain Location, a general and heavy construction equipment rental company with two branches in Angers, north western France. The price has not been disclosed.

Alain Location was founded in 1998 and rents equipment to both small and medium sized customers and large contractors. It employs 17 people at the two branches and has a fleet of 700 machines, mainly comprising excavators, backhoes loaders and compaction machines.

Xavier du Boÿs, chief executive of Kiloutou, said; "This acquisition fits perfectly with our strategy: we continue to develop our multi-specialist branch network , especially with heavy construction customers that we serve very closely.

“It again illustrates our interest in acquiring companies that have developed a real expertise, a real quality of services, whether on construction equipment, access or special products. I am very pleased to welcome the Alain Location team to the Kiloutou group. " Kiloutou said Alain Location’s management team would remain in place.

Alain Vérité, president and majority shareholder of Alain Location, said he was proud as an entrepreneur to have built a solid company and a strong team, and wished Kiloutou success with the business.

This is the latest in a number of acquisitions by Kiloutou over the past three years, which include the access business of Mediaco, AltéAd, BM Location, Top Loc, Starlift, Urbaparc and Most Location.

Kiloutou reported group revenues of €471 million in 2013 and employs 3500 people at 433 locations, including 50 sites at DIY, builders merchants stores.
