Klickrent app goes live

17 December 2015

Klickrent is a new online equipment rental market place, established by German rental giant Zeppelin in 2014. The company has just launched a new mobile app to make renting equipment even more accessible.

Since 1954, Zeppelin Baumaschinen has been selling, serving and supporting Caterpillar products in Germany. With a workforce of nearly 2,800 employees, 35 branch offices and more than 100 Zeppelin Rental depots, Zeppelin is a long-standing player in Europe’s construction equipment industry.

But being well-established is no excuse for standing still, and Zeppelin knows this. Now, the company is leveraging its rental business in a new and innovative way with the launch of a company that looks set to shake-up the market - online rental market place, Klickrent.

Klickrent’s CEO Sören Ladig said the long-term goal was to formalise and digitise the way that tools and machines are rented in the market today, building a transparent and extensive online marketplace.

And, significantly, this new operation won’t just be offering Caterpillar machines to rent – as Mr Ladig explained.

“The trend is that more and more business is taking place online. This does not only count for the rental industry, but also for well-known companies like Airbnb where people share their housing.

“Zeppelin Rental also noticed this and wanted to create something that would meet the needs of this new trend. The truth is that sooner or later such a marketplace would be created, and for that reason Zeppelin Rental made a strategic decision to establish Klickrent. The company is not limited to Caterpillar products, and not limited to its dealership countries.

“This is the first time in Zeppelin’s history that it has launched an independent company in this way.”

The new app adds to the company’s offering by making it easier to rent machinery, equipment and accessories from aerial work platforms, site fencing, site lighting to landscaping equipment, pumps, forklifts, power solutions or work tools.

The idea is for users to determine when and where they need the piece of rental equipment, and then receive an offer through Klickrent’s rental partners in a short time.
