Kranenbouw takes over STK

04 April 2008

Tower crane company Kranenbouw has taken over fellow Netherlands-based Stravers Transmate Kranen (STK) to become one of the major rental companies in the country.

Kranenbouw was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in Bergeijk, near Eindhoven. The company rents and services tower cranes in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. It also sells used and overhauled tower cranes worldwide.

STK Travers was founded in the 1980s and maintains construction machinery on a regional level. It has since developed into an all-round specialist in tower cranes, running projects all over the world. STK said it prides itself on its specialized in-house knowledge of all major brands of tower cranes. In 2002 the company became the importer of Terex Comedil for the Dutch market.

"Taking over Stravers Transmate Kranen was the most logical step for Kranenbouw to take in order to become one of the major rental fleet in the Netherlands, with more than 150 tower cranes," said the company.

"As a new company our goal will be able to approach new markets by expanding its core business in other countries in Europe and in the Middle East based on the long experience of Kranenbouw in these countries," the company continued.
