Kwipped network expands

16 November 2015

US-based online business to business equipment rental marketplace Kwipped has grown its supplier network after launching this spring.

The company said it now had nearly 250 suppliers listing equipment to rent, while its customer portfolio included universities, fortune 500 companies, and government agencies.

Kwipped is a platform that allows organisations which need to rent equipment to connect with a global network of suppliers that rent their equipment through the site.

The website is also said to facilitate and automate the rental process, including quoting, scheduling, insurance, security, deposits, contract execution, shipping and payment management.

The company said it offered a wide range of equipment in more than 500 categories across 17 different industries from the medical industry to construction, surveying, film and oil and gas.

Since May 2015, Kwipped said its suppliers had uploaded over 3000 pieces of equipment to the marketplace.

Founder and CEO Robert Preville said, “We are seeing impressive adoption by both large and small organisations, and have active rental contracts out to March.

“We have collected the proof-of-concept for our business model and are now working to implement the building blocks required to scale up our business.”

Registered users are said to include The Coca Cola Company, Sherwin-Williams, the US Navy, Under Armor, Michigan International Speedway, BASF, Leica Geosystems, General Dynamics, Boston Scientific and the US Forest Service.

“Companies and organisations that need rental equipment often face roadblocks that can hinder project turnaround and even hurt profits,” Mr Preville said.

“From time wasted on inefficient sourcing, to limited availability, to a lack of trust between involved parties, the challenges of renting equipment can be overcome with a platform like Kwipped.”
