He said: “I am proud to be joining Cramo, a company with a clear strategy to lead the rental industry’s development in Europe. I look forward to continuing to build on the group’s positive development during the past decade.”

Cramo chairman Helene Biström said: “I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit Leif Gustafsson to serve as president and CEO.

“Leif is a proven leader who has the experience from distributed services and a strong track record in delivering results. The board is confident that Leif will further strengthen the company´s position.

Ms Biström added: “Vesa Koivula has been instrumental in developing Cramo to the leading, stable and profitable equipment rental company as it is today.

“Under Vesa’s leadership Cramo has developed into an international company and increased its sales from €59 million in 2003 to €652 million last year.”

Vesa Koivula commented: “Retiring from Cramo after 12 years will not be easy. I will miss the people, but at the same time I look forward to pursuing other engagements. The time is right and I wish the Cramo team the best of luck.”
