Leighton wins US$ 108 million Middle East contract

Leighton's Middle East subsidiary, Al Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG), has won an AED 400 million (US$ 108 million) contract to construct Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank's new headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Scheduled for completion in 18 months, the project involves the construction of two towers comprising 14 storeys above ground as well as four levels of basement parking.

Last month, HLG and its joint venture partner Murray & Roberts won an AED 2.2 billion (US$ 600 million) hospital construction project in Abu Dhabi.

Government-owned Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, SEHA, awarded the contract for the Al Mafraq hospital complex, which is worth AED 1.4 billion (US$ 380 million) to HLG and AED 800 million (US$ 220 million) to Murray & Roberts.
