A Modular 50 Spreader Beam moves the model railroad

Lifting Gear Hire Corporation (LGH) in the USA had the unusual task of moving a model railway.

The model railway shipping container was 25 x 50 inches and weighed 28,000 pounds. It was moved in one piece with th help of a Modular 50 Spreader Beam.

The container was secured to the modular spreader beam by several slings and then lifted by crane from the truck to a building in Connellsville.

The model railway was designed by Harry Clark after his return from World War II. It is now housed in Connellsville, where its new home has been built to resemble the old B&O Railroad station that was demolished in the early 1980s.
