Hamburg, Germany-based Autokranvermietung Krandienst Schulz has taken delivery of a 600 tonne capacity Liebherr LR 1600/2 lattice boom crawler crane.
The crawler was delivered with the new SL13 boom system, which has been designed for the erection of wind turbines with hub heights of more than 150 metres, the manufacturer said.
Günter Sichward, Krandienst Schulz company owner, said, “We continue to see plenty of demand for cranes in the wind industry. But our large telescopic cranes are no longer suitable for erecting the latest generation of wind turbines.”
The first task for Krandienst Schulz’s new LR 1600/2 was to erect 2.5 MW wind turbines at a wind farm in Neiler in the Swabian Alps.
The new LR 1600/2 is now the fourth Liebherr crane that Krandienst Schulz has bought this year.
