Liebherr's development of the LTR range of telescopic boom crawlers is on schedule and will continue with the addition of a 60 tonne capacity model, IC exclusively reveals.

Following hot on the heels of the 1,200 tonne capacity Liebherr LTR 11200 will be the LTR 1060 in the 60 tonne class.

Development of both models is on schedule, according to Liebherr. The 1,200 tonner will be officially presented at or before the Bauma 2010 construction equipment exhibition in Germany, which is where the LTR 1060 will also make its debut.

The new 60 tonner is a conventional design, like the 100 tonne capacity LTR 1100 announced in IC August 2005, but smaller. No details for boom length or other specifications were available at the time of writing in early March. The LTR 1100 uses the crane upper works from the 100 tonne capacity LTM 1100 all terrain mobile crane and the LTR 11200 uses the upper works from the LTM 11200-9.1 wheeled mobile so the LTR 1060 might use the upper from the LTM 1055-3.2 or the LTM 1070-4.2 (55 and 70 tonnes capacity and 40 and 50 m booms, respectively).
