Construction equipment manufacturer Liugong has increased its presence in the Nordic region and has also started an equipment hire programme.

The company’s Swedish dealer Peter Lastmaskiner has opened a new branch office in Stockholm, Sweden – its second office in the country along with its Karlstad headquarters. The new branch joins Liugong’s global network of 2,650 sales outlets and 400 dealerships.

A Liugong spokesman said the manufacturer was looking to grow its market share in the Nordic region, which currently represents around 10% of its sales in Europe.

In addition, the Chinese-owned company has introduced a flexible hire programme for its European dealers. It claims this will give customers the opportunity to try out the brand, and said the approach had proved successful with operators who have negative preconceptions of Chinese machinery based on experience with other brands.
