Loxam UK boosts fleet with used machines
25 May 2011
Loxam UK has taken delivery of more than 100 used aerial platforms used equipment specialist AJ Access Platforms.
All the machines are three to four years old a comprise Genie GS-4390s and GS-5390s to Z-45, S-65, Z- 60/34 and S-125 booms, all fitted with on board generators.
AI understands that many of the machines were acquired from the receivers of Skylift, the Irish access rental company. The receivers, Grant Thornton, were called in by the Bank of Ireland on 8 April.
Brian Stead, Loxam UK's managing director, said; "In 2011 Loxam has increased its fleet by over 15% to respond to significantly increased demand from its customers.
"The strong service enhancement plan over the last 12 months has both increased retention and attracted new customers. To deliver best value for the customer base a mix of new and second user equipment has been sourced."
He said AJ Access had been its partner in acquiring "second user equipment, all of which falls into the ‘nearly new category'".
The machines are being delivered to Loxam's UK network with the final machines to be delivered in June.
AJ Access said machines in the three to four year old category allowed for "substantial savings...on new prices and where return on investment makes sense in the current market."
Loxam UK is the aerial platform subsidiary of French rental company Loxam.
