Ltech converts an Italian made Faresin telehandler for hauling a yacht trailer at a prestigious Russian yacht club.

A prestigious yacht club near Moscow approached Ltech with an unusual challenge. The FordeWind Yacht club wanted Ltech to convert a Faresin FH17.40 telehandler into a hauler for a special boat transporter trailer.

The special trailer is made by a Netherlands company Roodberg, it is designed to move yachts weighing up to 47 t and up to 22 m long. The trailer has an open U-form frame, the width and length of which can be altered hydraulically. During movement the boat is supported on the big rests, the frame and the cushions must be precisely regulated in length independently from each other for keeping the boat horizontally fixed. At the same time the trailer must hold the boat steady while moving on any surface.

The retooling work on the telehandler was carried out by Ltech engineers and technicians from its service centre, it took just four days for the machine to be ready to start its new job.

The Faresin FH 17.40 is currently being successfully used like a hauler for the Roodberg trailer and the FordeWind yacht club has subsequently asked Ltech to modify the telehandler for snow clearing through the winter months.
