Among a number of contracts signed at the recent Plantworx exhibition in the UK was a deal between Lynch Plant Hire and Hill Engineering for 50 Tefra couplers worth £120000 (€167000).

Once delivered, the Tefra Quick Hitches will be coupled with 50 brand new Caterpillar machines - worth nearly £6 million (€8.4 million) - which were also purchased at the exhibition.

Lynch Plant Hire has worked with Northern Ireland-based Hill Engineering for many years.

Operations director Merrill Lynch said: “We run more than 1000 excavators and each of the machines are fitted with Hill's hitches! We believe that they are the safest and most reliable available on the market. They have been tried and tested and also represent excellent value for money.”

Lynch is committed to major investment and is busy expanding its fleet to meet the demands of a busy schedule. British projects on which the machines and attachments are currently being used include Crossrail, the M25 expansion, Hinkley Point and the Chiltern Railway.

Ian Hll, managing director of Hill Engineering, said, “Hill and Lynch have one of the best relationships in the business. Lynch have been instrumental in helping our business to develop and improve current products.

“We have a vision of what works as a business, but customers such as Lynch understand their own requirements much better. In the past few years we have moved our focus to listening to the critical feedback presented by our customers.”
