HSK Horstfelder Sand Und Kies is Using a New JCB 456 ZX Wheeled Loader For materials handling duties at its sand and gravel pits in the Zossen district near Berlin.

The pits produce almost 1 million tonnes of sand and gravel each year, with about 40 different types being processed and sold to contractors in the greater Berlin-Brandenburg area. The 456 ZX has a bucket capacity of 3,5 m³, a turbocharged, 147 kW 8,3-litre engine with a compressed air cooling system, a +50% larger automotive style cab, a +6% increase to full turn tipping loads, a revised cooling pack to improve access for cleaning, and refined loader hydraulics to maximise loader accuracy and productivity.
