Mather and Stuart powers up

UK rental company Mather and Stuart has expanded its generator fleet with a £2 million (€2.2 million) investment in new units.

The company, which was acquired earlier this year by A-Plant, placed a number of orders for new equipment with manufacturers including Atlas Copco, Harrington and Firefly.

The order of generators from Atlas Copco and Harrington comprises 40, 80, 100, 150, 250 and 500kVA sets, of which all sets above 100kVA are fully synchronised, while Mather and Stuart’s hire fleet has been further enhanced with a total of 40 new Volt Safe systems.

The company also now offers over 50 Cygnus 3 hybrid power generators manufactured by Firefly, allowing customers to save money, reduce carbon footprint and provide silent night-time running.

Lee Stuart, director of Mather and Stuart Power Solutions, said, “This represents a huge investment which significantly enhances our hire fleet. For example, all generators are refinery specification to meet the needs of the industrial sector, plus our Volt Safe systems are unique to the industry and comprise a super-silenced generator and a triple bunded fuel tank housed within an anti-vandal steel container.

“They reduce noise to as low as 58dba at 1 metre, making them amongst the quietest machines across Europe and ideal for use on noise sensitive sites.

“It certainly is an exciting time for Mather and Stuart Power Solutions on a number of fronts, as we’re not only enhancing our fleet of equipment, we are also investing in our network of locations with significant expansion to offer nationwide coverage.”
