Middle East business grows Impregilo backlog

Italian contractor Impregilo has posted positive results for the nine months up to 30 September. 2013.

Total backlog was up 51.7% at €25.6 billion, compared with September 2012 figures.

Impregilo signed new orders worth €9.2 billion. The new contracts included the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia for €3.5 billion, the Doha Metro in Qatar for €1.8 billion, and the Libyan Coastal Motorway for €945 million.

The Italian firm also saw revenue hold steady at €1.7 billion, comparable with the same period in 2012.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased to €185.8 million, up from €67.5 million in 2012.
