Million Euro deal for Havator

20 October 2015

Crane and transport service provider Havator has been awarded a €1.2 million (US$ 1.8 million) contract to help construct a bioproduct mill in Äänekoski, central Finland.

The contract was awarded to Havator by Metsä Fibre, part of the Metsä Group. The contract covers organising and planning the lifting services, monitoring on-site safety, and co-ordinating the logistics between the site and storage facilities, a spokesperson said.

The bioproduct mill is the largest investment in the history of Finland's forest industry. Construction has already started and it is scheduled to be complete during the third quarter of 2017.

Jussi Yli-Niemi, Havator CEO, said, “We are proud to have been chosen as the lifting and project services provider for this major new Finnish forest industry investment. In large projects like this, our ability to work closely with the client, our expertise, our organisation, and our safety measures play a key role.”
