Mongolia Equipment Rental Co adds to management team

26 July 2013

Michael Telford, a US finance specialist with experience in developing markets, has been appointed executive vice president of Mongolia Equipment Rental Corp (MERC). MERC is the rental business that was recently appointed as the Hertz Equipment Rental Co franchise holder in Mongolia.

Mr Telford experience includes working with borrowers and institutional investors on capital investments into businesses from small start-ups to large infrastructure projects.

In the last 13 years he has focused on emerging markets and raising funding from bilateral/multilateral development organisations and private sources. He was managing partner at HaldaneFrontier and chief financial officer for Paratus Worldwide, a start-up transportation security company in Iraq.

"As someone with an academic and professional background in analysing emerging market economies and business opportunities within them, I believe it's an exciting time to focus on services supporting mining, real estate, and infrastructure development in Mongolia”, said Mr Telford.

MERC was established last year by US company Consolidation Services Inc, a business operating since January 2007. In addition to MERC, it owns oil wells and mineral rights in eastern Kentucky and Tennessee. Gary Kucher is CEO of both Consolidation and MERC.
