Two more speakers have been confirmed for this year’s World Demolition Summit (WDS), which takes place in Miami on October 14.
This is the first WDS to take place in North America after becoming established in Europe since it launched in 2009 – and the latest names announced will be well known to audiences on the US and Canadian side of the Atlantic.
Tim Barker, who will give the opening speech on ‘Defining World Class Demolition’ is the decommissioning, decontamination, deactivation, and demolition (D4) director of multi-billion dollar engineering company Aecom.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in the field and his presentation will draw on his work with the US Army and the country’s federal government.
Later in the day, Joe Rizzo, Cherry Companies’ vice president of business development, will look at demolition waste recycling with reference to a real-life project in Houston, Texas.
Joe is another vastly experienced demolition professional and apart from his role with the demolition contractor, he currently sits on the industrial workforce development committee with the Associated Builders and Contractors Association of Houston.
The World Demolition Summit is organised by Demolition & Recycling International magazine in co-operation with the National Demolition Association of the US and with the support of the European Demolition Association.
