Show organiser Veronafiere has announced the launch of MS & Africa Middle East – an international trade fair for stone design, technology, earthmoving and building machinery which will take place in Egypt this December.
The inaugural event will be held in the country’s capital, Cairo, from 9 to 12 December. Veronafiere said the show merged its Marmomacc and Samoter trade fair brands, with the aim of strengthening internationalisation and improving penetration into the African and Middle Eastern markets.
MS & Africa Middle East aims to combine the entire natural stone chain in a single event, from stone quarrying and processing to quarry and construction site machinery and vehicles, through to the finished product.
An area at the exhibition will also be dedicated to the second-hand sector, while training and educational programmes will also be a feature of the show.
“Although experiencing an unstable political situation like almost all countries in the Middle East and Africa, Egypt enjoys a privileged geographical position making it a candidate for the role of hub for Africa and the Middle East,” Veronafiere said.
MS Africa & Middle East is promoted by Veronafiere together with Art Line, an Egyptian organiser of exhibition events, and ExpoLink, the Egyptian Exporters Association. Veronafiere's partners also include the Italian Association of Construction Equipment & Attachment Companies (Unacea) and Confindustria Marmomacchine, an association for the natural stone field and stone processing machinery and equipment.
Egypt’s Expo & Convention Authority (EECA) and the country’s Export Council for Building Refractory and Metallurgy industries are also supporting the event.
The organisers said it had already received positive feedback from companies in Italy, India, Brazil, China and the Balkans Region. It said discussions are being finalised with EECA and Export Council for an area of 2,000 m2 for attendance by Egyptian companies.
Veronafiere said several major names in earthmoving have already signed up, including Caterpillar, Doosan and Bobcat.
