Hitachi Sumitomo's 500 tonne capacity 6000SLX lattice boom crawler crane

Hitachi Sumitomo in Japan has unveiled its model 6000SLX range-topping lattice boom crawler crane. Rated capacity is 500 tonnes at 6 m radius, maximum main boom length is 108 m and power is from a 397 kW diesel. Maximum boom and jib combination is 72 + 72 m. The prototype was on the test pad at the factory in Japan at the end of November.

It is the Hitachi Sumitomo version of the Link-Belt 548 exhibited at the ConExpo show in Las Vegas, US in March 2008. First sight of the 6000SLX will be at the intermat exhibition in Paris in April. It will be available in all markets as the 6000SLX except for the Americas where the Link-Belt 548 will be offered.
