Redwood Engineering, owner of Ascendant Access, has appointed Richard Tindale as director of sales and marketing.

This is a new role established to continue the UK-based company’s growth in all areas of activity including vehicle mounted access platforms, transport trailers and innovation engineering.

Van and truck mount manufacturer Ascendant Access is broadening its focus in 3.5 tonne GVW vehicle category and more efficient production, together with increased investment in engineering design. This, it added, has provided opportunities to significantly expand Ascendant’s customer base.

The company has also developed a new semi-trailer system based on a 7.5 tonne GVW tractor unit for more efficient plant deliveries, which is undergoing field trials. Also soon to be officially launched is the I-Foot integrated outrigger foot and spreader pad available for licensing by manufacturers of cranes and access platforms to incorporate in their own machines.

Mr Tindale has longstanding experience in sales and marketing within the access industry having previously worked with UpRight, Versalift and Gardner Denver. He held senior roles at Snorkel and latterly IAPS Group before leaving 12 months ago to develop The Partsyard, supplying used and obsolete access platform parts.

Mr Tindale said, “I am delighted to get the opportunity to work with Redwood Engineering, one of the few UK-based and owned access platform manufacturers. I have always had a high regard for the quality platforms manufactured by Ascendant under the design leadership of Steve Dean. The new investment and professional management introduced by the parent Group over the last two years provides a great opportunity to significantly grow market share in our home market and worldwide and I am looking forward to the challenge.”

Redwood Engineering is part of The Facelift Group, based in Hickstead, owner of Facelift, one of the UK’s leading powered access hire specialists.
