Komatsu’s new HB215LC-1 hybrid excavator, a 21 tonne class model

Komatsu's stand will feature its new HB215LC-1 hybrid excavator – a 21 tonne class model that is said to achieve an average 25% lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions than a traditional excavator.

The Komatsu Hybrid System includes an electric swing motor, power generator motor, capacitor and a 104kW diesel engine. It works on the principle of swing energy regeneration and energy storage.

Three other new machines, with EU Stage IIIB engines, will also be presented to the public for the first time – the WA320-7 and WA470-7 wheeled loaders, and the PC138US-10 excavator.

Other machines on display will include the HD785-7 rigid dump truck, which can carry a heaped capacity of 60m3, the WA380-7 wheeled loader and the WA500-7 wheeled loader.

Komatsu will also be showcasing the 5 tonne class PC55MR-3 mini excavator and the 12 tonne class PW118MR-8 wheeled excavator.
