Terex Aerial Work Platforms has introduced a new lighting tower in the form of the AL5, featuring an optional vertical mast. The company said the new model was designed to provide accurate positioning and durable performance for a safer alternative on the jobsite.

Providing 350o rotation, it said users could rotate the mast’s four quick disconnect lights in either the raised or the stowed position.

Terex said the AL5 featured an electric rather than hydraulic design, meaning there was no worry about spill containment. With one switch next to the control panel, the winch was said to lift and lower the lights in 30 seconds.

“Customers requested a Terex light tower with a vertical mast for accuracy and efficiency,” said Marie Engstrom, associate product manager for lighting towers. “This durable design is inherently easier to set up, take down and make adjustments while in use.”

The company added that the traditional AL5 light tower with laydown mast was still available, offering a standard 9.1m mast. Powered by an 8 KW Kubota engine, both configurations were said to offer a heavy tubular steel chassis and a 1,558kg axle for towing on rough roads.

The Terex AL5 light tower will be available everywhere but Europe due to road regulations.
