New man at R Collard

30 September 2015

John Watson has been appointed to the position of executive director at UK demolition and waste contractor R Collard Ltd. He joins the company from Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE plc) following the completion of the new Ferrybridge Multifuel 1 Energy from Waste that came out of its commissioning phase and into full commercial operation in August 2015.

John’s task will be to prepare R Collard Ltd for the next 20 years and he will be putting a new management structure in place to both consolidate its current position and prepare it for future growth. “Having worked in both the private and public sectors and most recently for a large corporate organisation I am ready to devote my energies to managing the huge potential that a private company such as Collard offers,” he says, “It shares my ethos for sustainability and I can see many opportunities for the company and the wider economy going forward.”

Robert Collard is equally enthusiastic about the new appointment. “I am delighted to have John with us in a new role for the company,” he says. “I have known him for many years and followed his career with interest and feel confident that his vast experience in the waste management industry will have many benefits for us.”
