New products and greater profits at ATN

ATN has announced new products and a continued rise in profits.

Turnover increased by 25.39% in 2013 compared with 2012, which followed a 90% increase between 2011 and 2012. Before this period, the French manufacturer solely supplied equipment to rental company Acces Industrie.

In recent years ATN decided to spread its wings and offer its products to other big rental companies. Its customers now include Loxam, Hertz Equipment Rental, Lavendon Group and UPSA (Switzerland), which explains the increased turnover.

Operational profit shows a stark contrast from 2012, when it stood at -€238000, to +€512000 in 2013 shows a net increase due to a volume effect and went from -€238 K in 2012 to €512 K in 2013. The number of machines sold increased by 45% in 2013.

A new painting facility is being built and will be operational by the end of June 2014. In 2013 ATN moved into its new 20000 m² premises in Fauillet, where its product range will be extended by three new machines over the next year.

One of them will be a compact PIAF vertical mast, with up to 7.9 m working height – it’s not yet confirmed what the height will be, but its dimensions will be 1.46 m x 0.78 m and it will weigh less than 1 tonne. It will also have 50% hydraulic, 50% electric operations. Until now PIAFS have all been fully hydraulic.

The Mygale 23; a 23 m working height tracked platform will likely be introduced at the Intermat exhibition in Paris, France next year. It will have four stabilisers and a ‘swing movement’ that will allow the basket to return to the ground from deployed position. It will also have an onboard diagnostic console.

Another new product will be the 16.4 m working height four-wheel drive articulated Zebra 16 articulated boom. It will have 9.30 m outreach and 40 cm ground clearance designed for rough terrain. It also has an onboard diagnostics console. The manufacturer will produce 50 units, which it will put out for testing at a number of rental companies. Once testing is complete those units will be sold.

For 2014 the company is forecasting a turnover of €15 million, with a total of 50 employees. “ATN wants to continue its commercial development, both in France and abroad. The entry into the range of new machines, in particular the Zebra 16, will enable a significant increase in sales,” said a company spokesman.
