New service centre for A-Plant Rail

29 March 2016

UK rental company A-Plant’s specialist rail division, A-Plant Rail, has expanded into Doncaster with the opening of a new service centre.

The company said the new centre had over 743m2 of space and was strategically located due to the large amount of overhead line work taking place across the north of England, something which A-Plant Rail specialises in supporting with equipment.

Service Centre manager Matt Cartwright said, “We have made a large investment in this new location, the facilities are state-of-the-art and we have a fleet of new specialist equipment ranging from height and stagger gauges, crimping tools and wire de-kinkers to static work benches for the forming and manufacturing of droppers to build overhead line cables.

“This is an exciting time for A-Plant Rail, the team here at Doncaster are vastly experienced rail professionals, we are PTS trained and can provide expert service and advice. What’s more as a company we are active members of the Rail Alliance along with being RISQS Accredited. With the ongoing electrification works and infrastructure plans around the Northern Powerhouse initiative we have a solid platform for growth.”

As well as offering rail equipment, another A-Plant division, Tool Hire Express operates from the Doncaster site offering a range of equipment including power tools, alloy towers, painting and decorating equipment, compaction equipment, gardening and landscaping equipment, pressure washers, carpet cleaners, heaters, consumables, PPE and more.

A-Plant is ownd by Ashtead Group, which also owns the Sunbelt brand in North America.
