New skid steers for JCB
22 March 2011
Two new models have been added to UK-based JCB's range of skid steer and compact track loaders, and both with rated operating capacities of 2,250 lbs (1,02 tonnes).
The new 225 wheeled skid steer and the 225T compact track loader join the seven New Generation models launched in November 2010.
The nine New Generation machines are the first to be designed, engineered and manufactured at JCB's North American headquarters in Savannah, Georgia.
John Patterson, deputy chairman of JCB, said, "Developing and producing this line in Savannah has allowed us to understand the unique needs of our North American customers - customers who are responsible for 60% of the total demand for skid steer and compact track loaders."
He added, "However, we're not only manufacturing machines that appeal to the North American market. By including features that every operator can appreciate, we've been able to produce machines with worldwide appeal."
While the seven models introduced in November - the 260, 280, 300 and 330 wheeled skid steers and 260T, 300T, 320T compact track loaders - were vertical lift machines, the new 225 and 225T feature radial lift.
JCB said these two new models completed the large platform segment of the New Generation range. The 225 and 225T feature all of the same features introduced with the seven other New Generation skid steer and track loader models.
These include tilting cab with increased service access, multifunction joysticks, and hydraulic quick hitch. There is an isolated cab that is sealed and pressurised with reduced noise levels, heated air-suspension seat with adjustable armrests and O-ring face seals for all hydraulic connections.
The machines are compatible with a new range of more than 30 types of JCB attachments.
