Crane manufacturer Spierings has shown the first glimpse of its new SK 597-AT4 mobile crane.

The four-axle model was shown at the Matexpo construction equipment exhibition, in Belgium. It has a 48 metre jib and will replace the SK 498-AT4 crane, which has a 44 m jib. Further upgrades include new disc brakes and a DAF Euro 6 engine. It has a redesigned chassis and a new truck cabin interior.

Koos Spierings, Spierings sales manager for the Benelux and the UK, said, “With the new SK 597-AT4 we’ve got a machine that perfectly serves both the crane rental company, as well as the end-user. The radius of 48 metres, combined with the compact carriage of 2.75 metres width, offers great advantages. The lifting capacity of 1.7 tonnes at 48 metres and a hook height of over 59 metres while luffing at 45 degrees, give this crane numerous possibilities.”

Spierings said it will release more information about the new model as it becomes available.
