Among the new products at SAIE are truck mounts from CTE, Cela, and Oil and Steel.

Gabrielle Valli of CTE is adamant that the Z21J 21 m working height articulated boom for 3.5 t chassis is the only machine of its size and type on the market with a jib. The jib provides the machine with additional up-and-over flexibility.

Also on show from CTE was the Z26J a 26 m working height articulated boom with a jib, mounted on a 6 t chassis. This machine is expected to be available Europe-wide in the first quarter of 2009.

Cela s new machine is a 27 m working height, double articulated boom with a jib mounted on a 5.6 t chassis. Nicola Manfrinato, commercial director said that the TP J270 was the first machine in Europe with this configuration and the company expected to sell 80 to 85 units a year.

Mr Manfrinato told AI that a 22 m articulated boom with jib on a 3.5 t chassis would be available from Cela from the beginning of next year.

Oil and Steel's Snake 2010 compact truck mount has a doble pantograph boom which takes the operator to a maximum working height of 20 m. On a compact base (2.4 m high and 5.79 m long) the model is designed for applications in confined spaces. With the innovative Gecko stabilistation system the Snake 2010 is particularly suitable for use in city streets," said Paulo Balugani, Oil & Steel's technical director, "It is ideal for lighting, maintenance, roofing painting any application where there is confined space."

Mr Balugani predicted sales of 300 to 400 Snake 2010 a year and told AI that 50 machines are already ordered.
