GOMACO will introduce a new slipform paver in the shape of the Commander III.

GOMACO will introduce the new Commander III slipform paver at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014, a three-track machine that will be available to contractors this autumn. The Tier 4-compliant unit features the manufacturer’s G+ control system and a new operator’s platform with a pivoting control console.

The frame has been rebuilt to accommodate Tier 4 engines and their cooling packages. The placement of the engine in the framework is reversed to provide increased operator visibility and the redesigned engine shroud provides easy access to service and fill points.

The Commander III will also be available with an optional on-board camera as a new safety device to survey designated areas of the slipforming process. The company said the camera could be positioned anywhere around the paver and feeds live to the G+ display on the console.

Along with the increased operator visibility, the next generation Commander III offers increased operator comfort. The operator’s platform is now isolated to eliminate vibration. It’s also quieter to work on the platform or around the machine. The Commander III has a new optimised cooling package with the hydraulic fan controlled by G+ to adapt cooling needs to job-site conditions for both a quiet and efficient operation.

It has improved fuel efficiency with a power-optimised engine and load-sensed hydraulic circuits. Excellent fuel efficiency combined with an increased fuel capacity allows an uninterrupted day of paving on the project.

In addition, GOMACO will have a PS-2600 placer/spreader on show, together with a four-track GHP-2800 slipform paver, a C-450 bridge deck finisher and a new T/C-5600 texture/cure machine. The newest updates for the company’s GSI smoothness indicator technology will also be displayed.
