NFDC accolade goes to David Sinclair
16 March 2015
The NFDC presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to David Sinclair at its 2015 Annual General Meeting, held at the Dorchester Hotel in London, on Friday 13 March, in recognition of a lifetime serving the demolition industry in a number of official capacities on both sides of the Atlantic.
This is only the third such award to be presented by the NFDC in its almost 75 years of existence, with the other two having gone to Claude Brown and Sidney Hunt respectively.
NFDC chief executive Howard Button said: “I’ve known David throughout my career in the demolition industry, he was there when I first joined the national Council. He has just retired from the Council yesterday. He has given exemplary service to the Federation throughout his whole career, he is a past president of the EDA and past president of the NFDC of course. He has attended 67 meetings of the National Council – no mean feat alone. He is an ambassador for our industry and worked with the UN during the recovery work in Haiti following the earthquake there and he worked with Sidney Hunt to lay down the foundations of the National Training Group. Without the dedication and efforts of these founding fathers, we would not be where we are today."
