NMT Crane Hire has taken delivery of its 40th crane, a Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1

In its 40th year of business, Bedfordshire, UK-based NMT Crane Hire has bought its 40th crane. The company has just taken delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 wheeled mobile telescopic crane, which joins a new full-specification LTC 1050-3.1 compact mobile crane purchased earlier for the company’s new Birmingham depot and an LTC 1045-3.1 compact mobile crane delivered in 2015.

The LTM 1060-3.1 on a three-axle carrier has a five-section main boom with a maximum operating height of 48 metres. It can be increased with the addition of a fly jib. In the UK, the LTM 1060-3.1 can travel with all 12.8 tonnes of counterweight and a double fly jib and remain within STGO (special types general order) regulations.

Tim Ambridge, NMT director, said, “We are proud to be celebrating our 40 years in business and to take delivery of our 40th crane in the fleet.

“This will be running out of our London depot. We hadn’t expected to purchase anything this year [2016] due to the exchange rate and uncertainty over Brexit. However, this is the fifth crane to be delivered this year, and the last six months has seen our best turnover and profit ever in 40 years.”
