Open house at Genie

27 March 2015

The Terex AWP Genie team has hosted an open day for customers and distributors at its scissor lift production plant in Coventry, UK.

The event included demonstrations of articulating boom lifts including the Z-33/18 and the redesigned diesel-powered Z-62/40.

“Events like this help reinforce the strong ties between our company and the Genie team,” said Steve Couling, managing director of IAPS Group, which owns distributor Access Platform (APS).

“We received a lot of positive feedback and the tour of the production lines gave our customers a real insight.”

David Fielden, owner of APS customer EPS Hire Centres, said: “Our tour of the factory was excellent. We source equipment from around the world, so it was good to meet our local dealer.”

And Dean Brooks, operations manager of Workplatform, added: “Until now, end users had not envisaged the utility of electric-powered machines seriously. Compared to the very few models of this kind currently available, the quality and drive and steer capabilities of the Z-33/18 boom lift are definitely a step ahead.

“Thanks to its 48 hp Deutz Stage IV engine, the Z62-40 has engine emissions covered as well.”
