Palfinger Platforms is showing a prototype boom dolly to complement its new 100 m truck mount for the US.

The P1000 truck mount, brought into production in the last year, is an updated version of the WT1000 introduced to the North American market two years ago. The conversions to the machine are designed to make it roadable in the US which has different axle loading regulations across its states.

The new dolly plays an important part in distributing the weight of the boom across more axles. It can be disconnected on site to give the P1000 its full off road capabilities.

Updates to the boom include disconnectable fly boom and a basket that can be turned 180 degrees so that they are both stored on the chassis during transport. The lift cylinders have hydraulic accumulaters to reduce the force in the slew ring while the boom is resting on the dolly.

The dolly is still a prototype, so no other details are available at present.
