Places still available at CECE Congress

13 September 2016

Places are still available for this year’s Congress held by CECE (the Committee for European Construction Equipment), which will discuss “an industry in transformation”, as well as exploring the drivers of success.

The Congress will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on 5 to 7 October, 2016, hosted by SVSS, the Czech CECE member.

A video invitation to the Congress has been produced, introduced by Bernd Holz of Ammann and SVSS, president of CECE.

The core of the Congress will be a plenary session on 6 October with speakers from government, industry and institutions. The theme will be “Industry in Transformation – Drivers of Success”.

In the morning, the conference will focus on the region in which the event takes place – Central and Eastern Europe. It will highlight its importance in the European Union and the European economy, and look at opportunities and challenges for business in the region.

Speakers are set to include high-level government representatives, and industry executives from the construction equipment sector, as well as executives from major construction companies and investment agencies involved in infrastructure work.

In addition, there will be analysts from economic institutions and think tanks.

In the afternoon, two expert panels will deep-dive into recent developments in customer relations and digitalisation, which CECE said were the two major trends emerging from its recent McKinsey study on the sector – Re-engineering Construction Equipment.

An economic forum on 7 October will take a deeper look at the global outlook of the economy, the construction sector and the equipment industry. The second half of the forum will turn its focus to India, where CECE said business was gearing up.

A technical forum will concentrate on the electrification of engines, machines and applications, and the organisation of the construction site of the future.

Also, industry experts will review the recent technical policy developments in a regulatory update session.

CECE said its biennial Congress was the central networking event of construction equipment manufacturers in Europe, bringing together 250 senior industry representatives from all major construction equipment companies. As in previous years, the media partner for the Congress is KHL, publisher of Construction Europe.

The 2016 Congress will be at the Angelo and Andels Hotel. Further details on the Congress, and registration details, can be found at www.cece-congress.eu.
