Plantforce Rentals creates compact division

UK rental company Plantforce Rentals has established a compact equipment division and invested £2.8 million (€3.25 million) in equipment for the new depot in Bristol, UK.

The new Plantforce Compact Range division and purpose-built depot will offer a compact machinery range, which will include 0.3 to 5 tonne cabbed excavators, telehandlers, trench compactors, hi-tip dumpers and a small tools range.

Expected to open in June 2019, the new depot is over 0.2ha in size. According to Plantforce it comprises a fully operational plant and small tool rental depot and will include parts storage, repair, inspection and maintenance facilities.

With special focus on the utilities, SME ground working and landscaping sectors, Plantforce said the compact equipment range will consist of excavators, dumpers, attachments and trailer packages and a small range of specific tools including hand held wacker plates and rollers. The company said it had teamed up with suppliers such as Geith, Kobelco, Thwaites, Indespension, Ammann, Dieci and Daemo to offer the new range.

Plantforce Operations Director, Sam Mercer, said, “We’re committed to offering our customers the widest choice of services and best customer experience possible. This includes providing the most advanced fleet of plant equipment, a diversely skilled workforce and supporting these with excellent customer service from the minute a client gets in touch.”

Over the past three years the company has invested £35 million (€40 million) in new plant equipment. Earlier this year the company announced that it was to acquire equipment and over 100 employees from the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant site, after Hawk Group entered administration.

This latest investment will see a number of new jobs created at the company including a provision for apprenticeship places, which the company said would be run in partnership with local education authorities.
