Ramirent’s Swedish operation has signed a €40 million contract to supply rental equipment and related services for a major construction project in the country’s capital.

Property company AMF Fastigheter, which agreed the deal with the Finnish rental specialist, is working with Urban Escape Stockholm on the project.

It includes five buildings, four streets and two squares, with offices, hotels, commercial premises and restaurants all being added by the summer of 2019. The total project covers around 35000 m2.

Erik Alteryd, managing director of Ramirent Sweden, said: “We are involved at an early stage in planning of safety and energy efficiency on construction sites. Thinking along the right lines at an early stage raises the quality of the project and reduces the scope for unforeseen events to occur.

“We like to work with assignments like Urban Escape Stockholm, where the customer can concentrate on their core business and we ensure that ‘the temporary factory’ where the construction project will be executed works efficiently and in a sustainable manner”.

For the course of the project, Ramirent will provide logistics, electricity and heating. The company will also train on-site personnel in safe machine operation. The delivery includes also lifts, hoists, scaffolding and fall protection equipment, and the setting up of an on-site customer centre.
