Ramirent to support YIT’s Tripla project

06 July 2016

Finnish rental company Ramirent has signed a multi-year deal with contractor YIT to support its construction site in Pasila, Helsinki.

Ramirent said the agreement covered a range of services, including equipment rental, logistics planning, directing transport and chemicals management on site, scaffolding, weather covers, dust management and training services.

Tripla is the largest construction project in the country — a three-block complex including a shopping centre, apartments, offices and a parking facility. Pasila station will be a part of Tripla.

YIT’s Pekka Luukkonen, construction director of Tripla, said, “Tripla is the largest construction site in Finland, the size of around fifty football fields with the total capacity of ten Finnish Parliament Houses.

“In terms of traffic, the location of the construction site is very challenging, as over 900 trains travel through the Pasila train station each day. Thanks to its high quality and production abilities, Ramirent is an ideal partner for carrying out such a project.

"The project presents many challenges for transport and logistics arrangements, among other things, and with this partnership we wish to ensure that we can take on these challenges together.”

Ramirent’s chemicals management service, Rami EcoOnline, is one of the new services that Ramirent will provide for the Tripla site. It is a cloud-based service that is always available for the customer irrespective of time and place.

Veikko Lehtola, director of sales and marketing at Ramirent Finland, said, “We have developed a new service for chemicals management – Rami EcoOnline. We also use the service in-house, and the service won the EcoOnline Award in Sweden.

“Using the service, Ramirent has managed to decrease its own use of chemicals by 46% compared to the amount used in 2012. We have now commercialised the service and will offer it to our customers in the future.”
