Red-D-Arc Welderentals, part of the US-based Airgas group, has acquired the Mexican company eKipro Rentals and Grupo Industrial Daymaga for an undisclosed sum.
The equipment rental and services company has five branches in Mexico and generated revenues of $16 million (€14.2 million) in 2014.
"The acquisition will increase our presence in Mexico and strengthen our position in this important area, particularly within the energy sector," said Mitch Imielinski, president of Red-D-Arc Welderentals.
"We're very pleased to welcome our new associates and customers to the Airgas family and look forward to continuing to offer excellent service and an expansive range of products."
Mauricio Gracia Peña, who founded eKipro in 2008, commented: “"I believe the quality of service and breadth of product offering available to current and future customers in Mexico of both companies will be stronger as a result of this acquisition.”
Red-D-Arc Welderentals is the largest provider of welding and welding-related rental products and services in North America, with more than 60000 welders, 3700 weld positioning and weld automation products, and 1600 electric power generators in its fleet.
